Yes, our courses are open to veterinarians, equine professionals, and anyone comfortable around horses with a passion for Equine Therapy.
Techniques taught will enhance your skill set and effectiveness, but we do recommend that those with limited experience with horses work with a trainer first. For all participants, being able to safely handle horses and pick up all four legs is essential.

Beginners often start with the Foundational Techniques for an all-encompassing introduction, while more advanced professionals may begin with the CranioSacral Techniques. Your choice should align with your experience and career goals.

The "Melding With Equus" video introduces you to the foundational principles of equine bodywork, providing essential knowledge and techniques that prepare you for any IET course.

No, the Foundational Techniques course is not a prerequisite for other courses, but it's highly suggested for a well-rounded introduction to the IET methods.

The Foundational Techniques course offers a comprehensive introduction to equine therapy. It focuses on lameness patterns utilizing Acupressure, Applied Kinesiology and introducing more advanced techniques. The CranioSacral Techniques course focuses on advanced assessments of cranial, cervical, and full-body imbalances. You can start with either, depending on your goals and experience.

Yes, IET CranioSacral Techniques is a prerequisite for OSTEO 1. The OSTEO courses must then be taken in sequential order (OSTEO 1, 2, 3, and 4).

Certification

Certification with IET provides you with advanced skills and a structured career path, enhancing your credibility and effectiveness in the industry. It establishes you as a skilled practitioner, allowing you to confidently offer advanced equine therapy services and further your professional career.

The certification process involves completing the relevant course, submitting case studies and video of working on a horse, teach assisting in the relevant course and undergoing a final evaluation to demonstrate proficiency in the techniques taught.

Certification can be completed in as little as a few months. It’s suggested that the process should be completed within one calendar year.

A large part of the certification process can be completely remote, however attendance to the course and teach assisting are required to be in-person. The Final Practicum with Tom Mayes may be during the teach assist, remote, or in person. Please contact us for more information.

Refunds and Cancellation Policies

Registration may be canceled or transferred any time up to 30 days prior to the scheduled course for no fee.
Any cancellation or transfer made after this 30-day period will be charged a $150 fee.
Extraneous cases will be dealt with on a case-to-case basis.

In the rare event that Integrated Equine Therapies needs to cancel a course, we will let you know at least 21 days prior to the first day of the scheduled course and immediately refund any full tuition paid.
However, we will not be responsible for non-refundable airline tickets or lodging reservations. Please do not purchase airline tickets or make non-refundable deposits on lodging that cannot be canceled 21 days ahead of time.

If you have registered for an Integrated Equine Therapies course and traveling becomes hazardous on the day of the course, please use your own judgment when deciding to attend.
Those who cannot attend a course because of inclement weather should contact the Integrated Equine Therapies Office at (530) 903-6852 as soon as you can. Refund decisions will be made on an individual basis.
