Integrated Equine Therapies
Advanced Osteopathic Techniques 2
IET OSTEO 2
Cranial & Cervical
This intensive 3-day course builds on the foundational techniques taught in IET OSTEO 1, deepening the understanding and application of advanced vascular, neural, and craniosacral methods. The focus shifts to cranial and cervical treatment, exploring the profound interplay between the vascular, craniosacral, and neural systems, and their effects throughout the equine body. Students will learn to reset vascular patterns at the cranial ventricles and address the blood/brain barrier, with an emphasis on cranial structures that influence emotion, mental clarity, and spiritual vitality. Profound merging approaches will be introduced, especially in relation to physical dis-ease rooted in emotional and mental imbalances. Additional highlights include rebalancing the HPA axis, vagal nerve, and further depth in foreleg gait cycle dynamics. Key techniques such as the Shopar Point—the master limb regulator—will also be covered, allowing practitioners to access new levels of understanding and healing in their work with horses.
What You’ll Gain From This Course
Introduce rebalancing techniques for vascular and neural cranial regions, including vertebral arteries, cranial nerves, and the CranioSacral system.
Explore techniques to address cranial base dysfunctions, cervical regions, and forelimb nerves.
Clearing and treating vascular dysfunctions throughout the cervical region to allow access and efficiency to treat the cranium.
Learn clinical applications such as functional indirect techniques and protocols for Head-Shaking Syndrome, CranioSacral dysfunctions, Spinal Adhesion, and Brachial Plexus Syndrome.
Perform post-treatment re-evaluations and verify treatment outcomes through advanced palpation and range of motion assessments.
Assess primary, secondary, regional, lameness, metabolic, and emotional patterns for a comprehensive understanding of equine health.
Conduct evaluations for vascular and neural constrictions and assess the endocrine system using palpation and applied kinesiology.
What to Expect
In this course, students will refine their skills in assessing vascular and neural constrictions, exploring advanced rebalancing techniques within the cranial and central nervous systems. With small class sizes, expect personalized guidance as you delve into both lecture-based learning and hands-on clinical applications. To help you continue practicing after, you'll also receive a Course Handbook to keep as a valuable reference and for following along during the course.
This course is typically paired with the IET OSTEO 1 Course, which takes place just before it. Spanning 3 days, there is a one-day break following the 5-day OSTEO 1 course. Taking both courses together is an intensive journey that requires a deep level of commitment. It’s perfectly fine to approach them one at a time, allowing for a slower, more gradual path to mastering the techniques.
Prerequisites
Completing the IET OSTEO 1 Course is required prior to attending in this course.
