Integrated Equine Therapies
Advanced Osteopathic Techniques 3
Visceral Manipulation
IET OSTEO 3
This course is a 3-day intensive course that delves deeply into resetting individual organs, organ systems, and the dynamic interplay between organs and the entire body. Building upon previous courses, this course refines and integrates osteopathic techniques, offering a comprehensive foundation and confident sequencing for full-body treatment. The focus is on restoring the natural movement and function of the organs, with an emphasis on diaphragm torsions and other deep visceral dysfunctions that are often overlooked. Diaphragm spasms, for example, are frequently the root cause of debilitating symptoms such as physical lameness, metabolic issues, and emotional distress—addressing these allows for profound healing.
Students will focus on visceral manipulation techniques that affect multiple systems, such as vascular, neural, and skeletal manipulations, providing effective resolution for complex dysfunctions. The course also emphasizes whole-body pattern assessment, teaching students to determine primary dysfunctions related to organ complications, such as esophageal hiatus or urinary system torsions. Treatment sequencing is a key focus, allowing practitioners to perform efficient, comprehensive sessions with greater confidence. By the end of this course, students will have gained the skills to assess and address major dysfunctions, equipping them with the clarity and confidence to enhance their effectiveness as equine therapists.
What You’ll Gain From This Course
Conduct trauma pattern assessments and evaluate regional implications, including advanced organ motility and gelding scar assessment and balancing.
Learn techniques to restore metabolic function of the portal system, which includes liver, large intestine, small intestine, spleen, pancreas and stomach.
Learn to fully address and clear common stomach gastric ulcers.
Explore the anatomy of the diaphragm, portal system, digestive, and urogenital systems, along with the caudal, pudendal, and peroneal nerves.
Perform CranioSacral resets and release techniques, focusing on the diaphragm's crura, vena cava, aorta, and esophageal hiatus.
Apply advanced techniques for spinal and neural impingement patterns, including liver rock and glide to address large intestine adhesion.
Address arterial vessel manipulation caudal to the diaphragm, including mesentery arteries and conditions like "Worm Aneurysms."
Learn visceral manipulation techniques for lumbar and sacral spinal adhesion, and correct nerve impingements affecting the gluteal, femoral, and sciatic nerves.
Focus on releasing joint torsions and improving motility and function throughout the equine body.
What to Expect
In this course, students will refine their skills in assessing trauma patterns, vascular and neural constrictions, and advanced organ motility, focusing on rebalancing techniques within the diaphragm, lumbar, and urogenital systems. With small class sizes, expect personalized guidance as you explore both lecture-based learning and hands-on clinical applications of Visceral Manipulation. To support your continued practice, you'll receive a comprehensive Course Handbook to use as a reference during and after the course.
This course is typically paired with the IET OSTEO 4, which follows directly afterward. It spans 3 days, with a one-day break before starting the 3-day OSTEO 4 course. Taking both courses together is an intensive journey that requires a deep level of commitment. It’s perfectly fine to approach them one at a time, allowing for a slower, more gradual path to mastering the techniques.
Prerequisites
Completing the IET OSTEO 2 Course is required prior to attending in this course.
